Hello (Copy)

ALBERT CHU

I’m a product design leader and manager who makes work meaningful –– for the teams I lead and the people our work empowers.

My teams have delivered business impact through 0-1, transformations, and optimizations, with particular focus on productivity, collaboration, and smart workflows.

Currently, I lead design for marketing automation at VistaPrint to unlock creativity, strategy, and personalization.

About

For over 15 years, I’ve built environments for teams to do meaningful work in architecture (Johnston Marklee), agency (Saatchi & Saatchi, Idean), and in-house (Amazon, VistaPrint).

My leadership and management approach is based on facilitating purpose, perspective, practice, and people –– so that we achieve incredible things together, with results and the right values.

1/4 VistaPrint Order Management

I managed and led the globally distributed Order Management teams scaling VistaPrint’s lower funnel e-commerce experiences for 19 million orders annually.

My teams improved the quality of purchase and post-purchase experiences, decreased cart abandonment 1.5% and order rejections 26%, and consistently had high job satisfaction survey results.

2/4 VistaPrint Solutions

I built the Growth & Retention design team that defined and proved the commercial viability of VistaPrint’s vision to be the go-to marketing solutions platform for small businesses.

My team increased multi-product purchases 23%, established a key pillar of the company-wide product strategy, and pioneered the empowered product team operating model at VistaPrint.

3/4 Amazon Honeycode

I was a founding designer who brought to market Amazon’s first no-code app-building productivity platform.

My team launched Amazon Honeycode from scratch and evolved the product paradigm. It’s the basis for their next generation of productivity services for business users to collaborate with their teams.

4/4 Otaat

For fun, I created Otaat, a minimalist, whimsical brand of accessories, objects, and party hats!

My weekend distraction let me play and learn, embrace entrepreneurship and build a small business –– and ended up in The New York Times, Fast Company, Elle, and stores internationally.
